Australian Deep-thinkers

June 3, 2008

A year ago, a lot of people were saying Australia was unsuitable for European style farming and we would be better off importing our food, we could live off iron ore and coal. Australia certainly is a land of big ideas, but there seems to be less and less good ideas, talk is cheap in Australia, (Greg Sheridan and his most useless generation, "Australia is using quarantine as trade protection") Where would we import our food from? Our import bill is too high now, how many ''000''s of millions of tons of iron ore would we have to shift to feed ourselves? Now we are told Australia needs more "think tanks"/deep-thinkers; there are too many deep-thinkers now, that is why productivity is declining, too many people talking about hard work, but not producing.
